The core function of Transition US is to be a catalyst for the Transition model. The strategy going forward is to continue in this role, and specifically to:
- Develop and deepen Transition Training:
- Develop teams of Transition Trainers able to provide coverage across the country
- Increase the number and breadth of Transition courses while ensuring their quality
- Establish best practices for Training based on sharing of ideas across the Training teams
- Provide ongoing support to Transition Trainers
- Co‐ordinate and co‐create materials that assist Transition Initiatives in their projects:
- Offer a regular blog where people can post their successes, events and news
- Support the shared production of “How to” Guides and Videos
- Provide tools to facilitate presentations, examples of best practice and EDAP’s
- Provide a forum for people to share their own resources, such as links, papers, short films or PowerPoint presentations
- Launch the Chapter structure for Transition Initiatives to enable them to raise funds as a non-profit organization under the Transition US umbrella
- Organize an annual national conference to which all US Transition Initiatives may contribute
- Support new emerging areas of Transition by designing specific events
- Encourage and support the development of regional Transition Hubs
- Think strategically and cooperatively about the emerging context in which Transition Initiatives grow, developing and revising our practices as necessary
- Work closely with Transition Network Limited, sharing experiences, concepts and best practices to ensure that duplication of effort is kept to a minimum, at the same time bearing in mind the desirability, where possible, of projects and functions being owned by the most appropriate people/groups at as local a level as possible
