Training for Transition

This two-day workshop is designed to provide a detailed introduction to the most important skills necessary to successfully set up, develop, and run a Transition project any locality. It is designed for people who are already in a group that is working to achieve this or who are thinking of creating such a group.

At the end of the course, participants will:

  • Have a clear understanding of the current global context for transition arising from climate change and peak oil and gas
  • Understand the Transition Town model
  • Have experiences of joint visioning, using Open Space, and organizing effective meetings
  • Understand the purpose and principles of an Energy Descent Plan
  • Have the outline of an effective and inspiring talk on Transition Towns
  • Have an initial plan of action for themselves and their community

Who should attend: Those wanting to take on leadership roles within Arizona, and other sustainability projects-students, educators, activists, community organizers, concerned citizens, permaculture and sustainability practitioners, green economy activists, etc.
