Contact email@example.com to learn more.
This month we want to share our appreciation for the Transition leaders across the country working tirelessly to prepare for Rob's tour by building capacity in their local groups, organizing public events and regional Transition gatherings, and building partnerships with aligned organizations and local governments.
We know your efforts are going to pay off in a big way, and we're inspired to be part of a movement that is leader-full!
What's new in Transition?
Across the US!
We're building off Rob Hopkin's visit and taking Transition US to the next level - with meetings, tours, and speaking events lined up in cities across the country. Visit our website for the latest details on Rob's tour.
So what exactly is a leader-full movement?
An organic movement with many empowered leaders, all contributing to a shared vision and evolving direction, constantly cultivating new leadership and encouraging others to step up. Read more in Bill McKibben's piece "Movements without Leaders."
Not Sea Walls
Rob Hopkins and Post Carbon Institute's Asher Miller are writing a paper on the meaning of "resilience" to encourage US philanthropists to invest in local action. They want your input!
Send us your stories and statistics on how local action is transforming your community and local economy.
Matching Challenge Campaign
Transition US has raised $33,000 towards our $50,000 Matching Challenge Campaign goal, which will help us network and support Transition Initiatives across the country and contribute to our upcoming national awareness campaign around Rob Hopkin’s visit this October. Invest in Transition US!

This month we welcome the 141st Official Transition Initiative - Transition Pasadena, California!
Transition Initiative Spotlight:
Transition Sarasota was founded in 2010 by its Executive Director Don Hall. Since then, Transition Sarasota was recognized as the 105th official Transition Initiative in the US, received a Local Hero Award for Best Nonprofit, and was profiled in The Power of Just Doing Stuff.
"I would like to commend your initiative in urging our community towards sustainable agriculture... it is essential that we not be dependent on a food supply located over 1,500 miles away. Thank you for contributing to the local economy."- Representative W. Gregory Steube

Effective Groups and Collaboration
With Transition taking off in the US, now is the time to skill up on facilitation, conflict resolution, effective communication and collaboration so your Transition group can gracefully absorb the new energy, faces, and resources Rob Hopkins' visit is stirring up.
Transition US is working with Transition UK's Nick Osborne to equip Transitioners with tools to work together effectively and get things done! Check out the Effective Groups short video (above), Resources page, 18-page Online Toolkit and Reading List to get started.
You can also view a recording of our recent teleseminar with Nick.
Nick will also be leading three 2-day Effective Groups workshops and 3 Effective Groups Train the Trainer workshops in Amherst, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. If you can't make it to one of the in-person trainings, stay tuned for our next round of Effective Groups trainings taught by skilled local facilitators.
Transition US can also help connect your group with a skilled mediator or facilitator to work with you on developing effective and democratic group systems.
