Welcome Transition Marbletown!

Thanks to Cornelia Wathen of the Transition Marbletown Initiating Group for sharing their story this far!

The Transition Town movement was introduced to Marbletown, New York in 2010-11 by Deena Wade who organized a series of film showings on various topics related to self-sustainability. Each screening was followed by a discussion.  Many people turned out for these events, and discussed what was already happening locally and what we would like to see happen.

A spin-off committee of the Northern California Regional Transition conference calls kicked off their organizing meetings for a Northern California Regional Transition Conference to happen in the fall of this year. This is the time for Initiatives that are interested in having a direct voice with the visioning and planning process of the conference to have a representative be on the committee. How Transition Initiatives Engage with Young People: Detailed Survey Results

This document provides numerical results of responses to the questions in the survey conducted between March 26 and April 11, 2012.  Nearly all of the 114 official Transition initiatives in the U.S. at the start of March 2012 were contacted and invited to participate in the survey, and 38 Transition initiative organizers fully completed the survey.  The survey was also publicized by Transition US through its March 2012 e-newsletter and website.
