Sponsor Spotlights are a series of short interviews designed to introduce you to some of the amazing organizations who are actively supporting our upcoming Transition US National Gathering, which will take place in St. Paul, Minnesota at the end of July. This post focuses on Transition Twin Cities, a support hub for neighborhood-level Transition initiatives in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Please start by telling us a little bit more about who you are and what you do.
Begun in December 2015, Transition Twin Cities is an organizing and resource hub to connect people in Transition groups operating throughout the Twin Cities, and support start-up groups. It also works to raise the visibility of the Transition movement in the area with a website, newsletter, Facebook group and YouTube channel, community education classes about Transition, and a speaker’s bureau.

What inspired you to get involved in helping to sponsor the Transition US National Gathering?
Transition US was seeking a location in the middle of the country as a host site for the National Gathering. We believed the Twin Cities would a good choice. Not only are there several active, neighborhood-level Transition groups, but a lot is happening in our city in terms of food access and food system localization, permaculture education and application, cooperative businesses, community investing, creation of community solar gardens, transit options, biking and bike infrastructure, climate preparedness, and more.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers and those who will be attending our National Gathering?
Welcome to the Twin Cities!
