Circle Forward Governance for Resilience

Tuesday, April 21, 2015 - 11:00am - 12:15pm

Do a few voices dominate your meetings?
·       Do you sometimes leave meetings wondering what was accomplished?
·       Could your Transition groups be much more effective than they are now?

We use governance every day in our families, our community groups, and at our jobs. Governance is the process of decision-making and the systems by which decisions are implemented. Some forms of governance can help our life or groups become resilient and move forward with elegant coordination, while others create obstacles and even lead to breakdown. Around the world, organizations, businesses, and networks are using a new operating system called Circle Forward to become more resilient, creative and productive, like healthy systems in the natural world.

We believe that fundamental change requires a whole different system of governance. In this lively presentation you'll be introduced to the principles of good governance and get an experiential taste of the transformative Circle Forward system.  You'll hear about our work in Central Appalachia to link local, state, and regional networks addressing food security, including people who experience food insecurity.
