Transition US :: July 2012 e-newsletter
Earlier this month, we held two new trainings, Train the Trainers and the first Transition THRIVE training to be held in the US. Naresh Giangrande and Sophy Banks, from Transition Network in the UK led the charge and facilitated a remarkable training experience. We were treated to the sights, sounds and creative projects of the Chicago area.

Tips on creating a website using WordPress
A big part of organizing is web-based and setting up and maintaining a website can be a big chunk of work. Transition Putneyhas put together a short writeup on getting started with Wordpress, a basic website platform that is relatively easy to navigate and setup.

End of Growth UpdateWith the news full of hype about new sources of oil and gas, this month Post Carbon Senior Fellow Richard Heinberg picked up on the emerging theme of Peak Denial. Of course our energy challenges have not gone away, as is more than evident from energy companies' pursuit of ever more polluting and risky to access resources. One such project that is set to return is the proposed Keystone XL pipeline to connect US refiners to the Canadian tar sands — if you haven't seen our video on it yet watch it here, share it with your friends, and join us in taking action.
Let's mobilize of thousands of new residents, create innumerable sustainability actions provide the community networks and cross-sector collaborations needed to Transition our towns and cities across the US.
