Current Status: Active
Year Founded: 2009
Summary of Activities: We create demonstration projects that model sustainability. There are 13 active subgroups ranging from zero waste to gardens to water saving to climate change. Two projects won the Green City Award in 2013 and are now operating independently.
Summary of Accomplishments: We have successfully influenced city policy. The Pasadena 100 project pushed for and won "no more long-term fossil fuel contracts" and "include the social cost of carbon" during the recent planning for energy sources. The Good To Go/Styrofoam Free Pasadena project won a ban and also built a much bigger environmental community through our ongoing Eco-Breakfast collaboration (with Pasadena Environmental Advocates).
