Transition Together Pilot Project a Smashing Success

Transition Town Totnes has just finished trialing their rather clever and inspiring community initiative, "Transition Together". The Transition Together project forms small, social groups of friends, neighbors and colleagues and then supports them in taking a number of effective, practical, money-saving and carbon-reducing steps.

LogoThe project was a big success, so TTT, thinking that other initiatives might benefit from the project, applied for funds to help others adapt the material to their own locale and kick off a Transition Together project in their own backyard. Big Green Challenge Plus came up with the money and there could be up to 10 Transition Initiatives that'll be able to take advantage of this scheme.

Check out how the project works and if you want to take it further, see if you're in the UK, if you'd like to apply for £1,000 for your initiative.

The project starter pack will be made available to any official transition community wherever they may be in the world, from early November (per current plan). TTT simply asks for a commitment to share outcomes and learnings back to the network. More information about how to get the pack will be available here when it's ready for general release, and will be posted here.

Big thanks to Fiona Ward, Lou Brown and the rest of the Transition Together team for pulling it together.
