Transition Whatcom's Perennial Project 10/10/10

Transition Whatcom in Washington's local 10-10-10 event began at 9 a.m. on the steps of Bellingham City Hall. Live music, info booths and speakers got the day started, with Bellingham Mayor Dan Pike planting their first tree in the Bellingham Public Library grounds. The rest of the day, lots of smiling volunteers gathered to plant perennials in local school gardens.

Thanks to David Macleod for posting the photos below. For more photos and event details, visit the main site.

Mayor Dan Pike planted our first tree in the Bellingham Public Library grounds at 10:10 a.m. Then we loaded up bike trailers with our assembled plants and headed to the schools to plant the new additions to the school gardens.
